Continuing the Journey

Grandparents' Day!

Since Carson is in afternoon Kindergarten, he goes to before-school care at the private school he attended last year (which actually equates to going to morning Kindergarten at the private school before he goes to afternoon Kindergarten at the public school). Since Molly is in Preschool there, it worked out well when Grandparents' Day was held at the school two weeks ago...Grandma and Grandpa B. were able to attend together and see both kids! They were, however, a bit worried that Molly might not recognize them...after all, she had only seen them two or three times before Grandparents' Day.

We arranged ahead of time with the Preschool Director and with Molly's teachers to get Carson and Molly together to help with that issue...
...and it worked out beautifully. It just so happened that Carson got to be the "Star of the Week" in his room for that week...
...and I'm so glad Grandma thought to take a picture of his "Star Student" board for me!

Grandma told me that the kids all got together in the chapel and performed some songs. The lighting in the chapel at the school is awful -- Grandma took pics but they didn't turn out. She said Molly made sure she ended up directly in front of Carson when they lined up and that she sang along with all the songs. (This kid is truly amazing! She is picking up English so quickly, can already write her name, can count to 10, and can sing the "A-B-C Song"...and we've only been home with her for six weeks!)

At Carson's birthday party a few weeks ago, Molly was PETRIFIED of Grandpa for some reason. Every time she saw him, she would scream and cry. (Which is hysterical, because Grandpa B. is one of the silliest, sweetest people I have ever met!) I was a bit concerned when Grandma told me that, when they headed to their separate classrooms, Carson grabbed her and made her go to his room. Uh-oh. So...I was afraid to ask...what did Molly do with Grandpa?
Whew! Looks like she got over her fears and decided to play with her silly, sweet Grandpa. (I love how the cash register is open in that picture while she listens to Grandpa's heart. Guess he doesn't have insurance and had to pay cash for that exam! LOL!)

The morning went very well and fun was had by all...
...makes me wish I had gotten invited!
