Yet ANOTHER Funny Encounter in a Chinese Restaurant...

Thursday evening, while Meggie was at dance class, Daddy and I surprised Carson with dinner at a Chinese buffet. Our waiter was a young Chinese guy with a VERY heavy Chinese accent. When he handed Carson a straw for his water, Carson said, "Thank you." The waiter nodded slightly at Carson and said, "Thank you." Carson leaned closer to the waiter and said slowly, "No. You welcome." We all burst out laughing (even the waiter) as our Little Man tried to teach a grown man proper manners!

Then the waiter started a conversation with us about where Carson was from. When we told him Carson was from Hefei, in Anhui Province, the waiter brightened. He knew Anhui Province well and told us a few things about the area. As he spoke to us in broken English with his very thick accent, Carson looked at me and seemed confused. "Mommy," he said, "why he talking blah-blah-blah?" I nearly choked on my drink! Oh, Little Man, you used to talk quite a bit of blah-blah-blah just 11 short months ago!!

I LOVE taking Carson to Chinese restaurants...every meal is a new adventure!
