Carson's Big Batman Birthday Bash!

While Carson's birthday has come and gone (click here and scroll down to September 4th to see pictures from his actual birthday), we had to wait for the weekend to have the Big Birthday Bash. And, boy, did we have fun!!

After rushing home from Church on Sunday to straighten up the house one more time and get lunch set out, Carson insisted on changing into his Spiderman shirt and then headed straight for his Batman costume...guess it was gonna be a multi-Superhero-themed party!

Meggie (the best Big Sister in the WORLD) and her best friend, Jacqueline (the best Big Sister's Best Friend in the WORLD) helped us clean and then made PB&J sandwiches for all the kids coming to the party. Then they tackled the gift bags...
...a process that got quite silly when they found the Batman masks and blowers.
Aunt Debbie found these while she was shopping for Carson's birthday present...
...and bought them for Carson and Molly. The pink pig's hat says "Lil Sister" and the blue pig's says "Big Brother." Across the back of the pink pig, it says "I love my Big Brother" and the blue pig's bum announces, "I love my Lil Sister." Aren't they stinkin' adorable?!

Anyway, back to the party...here's Carson attacking the first present.

...but, although Carson got tons of great presents, his favorite -- by far -- was this Batman sword, with actual sword sounds!

I should have KNOWN! Tim and Brendan picked that thing out!! Oh, Tim, I'll get you back for that one!!

We tried to get a group shot of the kids after the presents were all opened...except Max started melting down and was out on the porch with his parents and Hannah, Sarah, Alex, and Jillian hadn't arrived yet. So, here's a group shot of MOST of the kids: Selleck holding Slade, Brendan, the Birthday Boy, Ellie holding Sophia, and Wesley. What a fun group of kids!!
On to cake! Every Batman Birthday Bash requires...
...an awesome Batman cake! Yummmmm, Carson can't WAIT to dig in!!
Tim, who was kind enough to take pictures during gift opening, offered to cut the cake. Now, I know WHY he wanted to cut it...
...just kidding, that was a posed shot just 'cause he is a huge brat. (Relax, Wendy, he behaved himself quite nicely!)

While Carson was so excited about his cake and talked about it for days before the party, he decided he didn't want cake...the sword was more interesting. The other kids, however, enjoyed the cake...
My girlfriend Sarah with her adorable baby, Slade. The funniest thing was, truly seconds before taking this picture, Slade was crying. When I put the camera up, he smiled. I see acting in his future, Sarah...just like Grandpa S.!
When I put the sword up until cake time was over, Carson decided to dig in...but only if Grandma B. would feed him. (This is becoming a treasured tradition for him at parties, to act pitiful and have Grandma spoon feed him. So pathetic...)

Sorry, Doug, but this picture of Wesley and Ellie was just too cute not to post! Gotta love a man who is secure enough in his manhood that he can wear sparkly wings and smile about it!!

Oh, great, Alex is getting in on the swordplay. He decided to grab the pirate costume Aunt Debbie gave Carson and the duel began!
Alex was cracking us up, with his theatrical jumps. Carson thought he was Mr. Cool! Look at that evil look in his eyes!
Well, Little Man, your birthday is officially over. But don't fret, you'll have MANY birthday parties in your future! Just like we did at Meggie's party in June, we decided to get pictures of us with the Birthday Boy. First, with Mommy...
