Continuing the Journey

The Official Birthday Party Post...

We were a bit nervous about having Carson's birthday party on Sunday, so soon after Molly got home...especially considering how upset she gets in new situations. But what could we do? Carson's birthday arrived and it needed to be celebrated!

Surprisingly, Molly did EXTREMELY well with the crowd...
...which was probably greatly helped by her awesome cousins, who were so sweet to her and allowed her to warm up to them at HER speed. You kids are the BEST! (The fact that most of the guests arrived with gifts for Molly also didn't hurt...) Carson couldn't wait to dive into that red gift bag that Meggie made him look at -- but not open -- all weekend...
...and was excited to see it was a bowling game! He decided on a Transformers theme this year...
...and while I thought the cake was hideous, he LOVED it! (At least it tasted great!)
I love how Griffin is standing nearby, willing to help blow out those candles if Carson couldn't handle it on his own. What a nice cousin! While she looks unhappy in this pic...
...Molly actually had a great time. The only odd thing: she doesn't like cake OR ice cream!! Can you BELIEVE that?! We'll work on it...maybe they are acquired tastes.
Sophia agreed with me and was quite shocked to know Molly wouldn't partake in cake and ice cream. (Not really...) Our little sensitive soul who doesn't like new situations...
...warmed quickly when she saw that Jillian, Maddie, and Hannah were willing to play Barbies with her! Instant girl party in the corner of the family room! Carson got many cool gifts but was SUPER excited...
...that Uncle Scott, Aunt Nita, Maddie, Olivia, Griffin and Peyton got him his very own fishing pole! After the party broke up, Daddy took him down to the lake in our subdivision and they caught SEVEN FISH!! Wow!! Now THAT'S a great end to a wonderful birthday celebration!
